Editor,
As a young Canadian from Rural Ontario looking to enter the workforce soon, I welcome the creation of the Ministry of Rural Economic Development. For too long rural Canadians' issues weren't being listened to in Ottawa. The creation of this ministry is a sign of that changing. This new ministry will work to help strengthen the rural economy by creating a rural development strategy, something that is desperately needed to fully support rural Canadians. In addition, the Ministry of Rural Economic Development will work towards expanding access to high-speed internet for rural businesses and households. It's 2019, and if rural Canada's businesses are to keep up with the fast-paced world economy, high-speed internet access is a must. Overall a win for rural Canadians and their businesses.
