There are 193 000 working farms in Canada. Grey County, Ontario has an extensive farming community. The 2018 Ag census showed the county livestock population included 39,000 pigs, 125,000 cattle (3rd highest in ON) and 31,000 sheep (highest in ON).
For over 150 years many family farmers from the county have marketed at the Owen Sound Farmers' Market.
Last Saturday the market was targeted by an animal rights group wearing masks.
I am interested to know where our local politicians, MPP, MP, or candidates to be the new MP in October stand on the issue of masked protesters being allowed to target farmers and their customers on the premises of farmers markets.
Or for that matter, to target any business or their customers on the premises of the business - with or without masks.
