Re: Rule of Law is not singular, Feb 13, 2020

The world wars and other wars we volunteered to fight in. Also the war of 1812 we allied with the British to fight against the 13 colonies who had broken away from the kingdoms of Europe and England.

The Residential School system our children were forced to go to by the RCMP and Indian Agent. Many of these children died.
Our ceremonies were outlawed and ceremonial objects hidden from the Religious orders, Indian Agent for fear of these Sacred objects being destroyed and desecrated.

We did not surrender our Original Form of Government; our population was reduced due to disease and forced starvation that forced us onto Reserves aka Concentration camps, prisoner of war camps or refugee camps.

With the Iroquois nation the original form of government was sabotaged by the introduction of what became known as "Pine Tree chiefs". These were not chiefs. This was to create division and create disunity and disharmony with the Iroquois. These false pine tree chiefs were manipulated as a means for the British to get power and control over decision making with the Iroquois nations.

The Indian Act imposed the elected system in order to manipulate and control the Native communities, and gave most power and decision making to the Indian Agent.

We did not give over or cede power. It was taken over and imposed because disease and other factors reduced our population. We had no choice by then.

We would never give away any of this life and now that we are aware of our past history, we acknowledge the Sacred way of Life and we know that more positive change is coming for the future generations.

Once again we never gave in or gave away anything regarding our way of life as is implied in this article.
