garden 1

A beautiful afternoon at the Gitche Namewikwedong Reconciliation Garden that is being built on the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibwa Nation in Kelso Park, Owen Sound. We gathered around the sacred fire to celebrate the progress that has been made over the past year, with garden 2stories, songs, and prayers.

Shout out to the volunteer committee overseeing the project, especially Susan Staves (chair), Colleen Purdon, Elder Shirley John and Thomas Dean (landscape architect).

We continue to fundraise to complete the garden and have a matching campaign which you can support. Please visit https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/united-way-of-bruce-grey/p2p/ReconciliationGarden/ or call United Way 519-376-1560.
