The Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce has partnered with an exciting new Canadian made app called Give Shop. Give Shop is a new online marketplace that makes it easy for Canadians to raise funds for charity simply by donating and buying gently used items. The marketplace is similar to Kijiji, however all sale proceeds from any item sold are donated directly to charity.
Now more than ever the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce needs the support of its community and this is one new and exciting way to provide support.
While the Covid-19 pandemic has caused many challenges at Chapman House a large expense the organization will be incurring is the replacement of the soft non-medical grade furnishings in the hospices shared spaces. This includes couches and chairs in the front lobby, the quiet room, family room and the children’s room.
The organization is currently sourcing quotes on replacement furnishing which will maintain the comforting and homey atmosphere of the hospice but will provide the durability required for the enhanced cleaning protocols brought on by the pandemic.
While it won’t cover the full cost of this unexpected expense Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce hopes to raise $5,000 through The Great Grey Bruce Garage Sale to get the fund started.

Those in the community who would like to make a direct donation to assist with the cost of the replacement furnishings can do so online at GreyBruceHospice.com or by calling Amy McConachie at 519-370-7239 Ext. 105
