Jennifer and Pat Wilkie are competitive sand sculptors in summer, and snow becomes their medium in winter, weather permitting,
As the temperatures rose to +2 and rain fell, Jennifer says her snowman in front of their home on Owen Sound's east hill took a beating. "His eyes were hanging out as well as his red buttons and warped melting body, but was somehow still standing."
Although she says the snow was not ideal for a quick surgical fix, Jennifer spent "two hours in the O.R. reviving Johnny and his side kick," having to dig "almost a foot deep into the remaining snow in the yard to get the ideal damp plastic surgery snow to work with. The surgery was successful I think."
We appreciate Pat and Jenny sharing their before and after pictures with us, and words of wisdom - "The things we do in isolation to stimulate the mind and soul can be simple."
We wish them some more healthy deliveries of "art materials" before the winter is over.
