The Butterflyway Project is a volunteer-led movement growing highways of habitat for bees and butterflies across Canada.
From January 18 to February 5, 2021, you have a chance to join the David Suzuki Foundation’s team of Butterflyway Rangers!
We are looking for awesome people from communities throughout Canada to become our 2021 Butterflyway Rangers. We are looking for community builders, nature lovers, re-wilders, schemers, and dreamers. Dedicated people with talents and skills to share with others in their communities. We need people who care. People with the courage to lead. People ready to shine.
Butterflyway Rangers will help make their communities greener and healthier, one fun planting project and community event at a time. They will create opportunities, connect people and champion ideas.
Rangers are the public face of the Butterflyway Project in their communities. They’ll get online leadership training and learn skills to influence and bring people together. They’ll learn about the wonders of bees, butterflies and wildflowers. And they’ll meet a ton of awesome people through the national Butterflyway Rangers network.
The goal of the Butterflyway Project is to establish habitat for local bees and butterflies in communities throughout the country. Each Ranger will be tasked with organizing a small local team to help them plant at least a dozen pollinator patches in 2021. They’ll receive a Butterflyway Ranger kit, including a Butterflyway T-shirt, garden signs and educational and campaign materials.
Below is the application form to become a Butterflyway Rangers. To find out more about the benefits of being a Ranger, see below.
Each volunteer should be able to commit to contributing at least four hours of volunteering per month, from February to October 2021. Applications will be accepted online here until February 5, 2021.
