family photoTo help celebrate the Family Day Weekend, Bruce Power is hosting a family-fun photo contest, while also donating 1,000 flying carpet snow sleds to children across Grey, Bruce and Huron counties.

People of all ages are encouraged to share photos of fun activities over the Family Day Weekend, and follow and tag Bruce Power on Instagram @brucepowerngs for a chance to win prizes, such as an iPad, a pizza night, family-fun games and more. Only photos that demonstrate adherence to public health measures will be entered into the prize draw.

“We know this is a difficult time for many families in our communities, and we have all had to adapt to a new normal,” said Dwight Irwin, Bruce Power’s Manager of Community Relations. “We hope our Family Day photo contest will encourage families to get active while following public health measures to keep people safe. We can’t wait to see your pictures of the activities that keep your family mentally and physically healthy!”

From Feb. 12 to 15, the public is encouraged to follow and tag @brucepowerngs on Instagram posts and stories of their family enjoying time together, whether it be building snow sculptures, blanket forts, tobogganing, enjoying a game night, skating on an outdoor rink, or anything in between. Winners will be randomly selected and will be contacted directly through Instagram. Those who do not have an Instagram account can email [email protected] to be included in the prize draw.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Bruce Power has committed to Powering Ontario through COVID-19. The company has provided nearly 2.5 million pieces of personal protective equipment to frontline workers, businesses, Indigenous communities and schools – the largest announced donation of PPE from Canada’s private sector. It has also spent $1 million on public education efforts, community protection, shop local initiatives, activities and organizations that promote mental and physical health, and lending a helping hand to those in need. Most recently, Bruce Power is working with public health officials and all levels of government to provide resources, logistical support and expertise to assist in COVID-19 immunization efforts in Bruce, Grey and Huron counties, and across the province.
