Every February, the students and staff at Alexandra Community School take part in a 2-week Kindness Challenge! The timing is purposeful as in February at Alexandra, we focus on the Grandfather teaching of zaagi'idiwin or love.
This year the challenges focused on our school community as well as the local community. Feather Evans, a Grade 2 student, is neighbour to Charlie Fischer, a 106 year old WW2 Veteran. Feather helped deliver over 250 Valentines to Charlie as one of our first school wide challenges.
Showering the Alexandra custodial staff with notes of love, banners and cards for Chapman House, and thank-you cards for the health care workers at the COVID Assessment site are just some of the Kindness Challenges that the Alexandra Eagles completed.
At Alexandra we truly believe, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted!”
