Stand-up comedian and actor Ali Hassan (CBC’s Laugh Out Loud, Designated Survivor, Goon) and Dr. Asif Doja, a pediatric neurologist, are excited to announce that they have joined forces for a new podcast, Doctor vs. Comedian. The first six episodes can now be heard everywhere podcasts are available, with new episodes released weekly. In just 2 weeks after launch, Doctor vs. Comedian has already risen to the #1 Apple Podcast in the Medicine category. It is also steadily climbing into the Top Ten of Health & Fitness podcasts in Canada.
In each episode, Hassan and Dr. Doja pick a topic from each other's field and engage in insightful, informative and entertaining conversations. Talking about serious subjects in an unserious way, they tackle everything from the Ketogenic Diet to The United States of Al casting controversy, Dr. Oz, ‘joke theft’ in comedy and more.
“We have known each other since childhood and, while we took different paths in life, we have been fascinated with each other’s jobs. When we get together (these days over Zoom), the conversations are always about medicine and health, and the entertainment industry,” said Hassan and Dr. Doja in a joint comment. “The idea of combining our late-night debates with our love of podcasts seemed like a no-brainer and we can’t wait to bring these lively and entertaining discussions to listeners.”
