CMHA Grey Bruce in partnership with Owen Sound Police Services and Heritage Place Shopping Centre in Owen Sound is hosting a Back to School Drive Thru event.
Typically, each year the youth awareness programs of Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce would welcome 100 families to Harrison Park for the annual "Back to School Teddy Bear picnic", providing lots of games and entertainment for all who attend as well as access to information, resources and swag items.
This year, in place of that event, CMHA Grey Bruce is inviting families to a “drive thru” event, in a reverse parade style to collect valuable resource information and receive coupons and other free items to support the overall mental health and wellbeing of children, youth and families of Grey and Bruce counties. The 1st annual Back to School Drive Thru event is planned for Wednesday September 1st from 5 to 7pm.
The drive thru lane will be ready for lining up at 5pm (in the west lot beside Leon’s) and the “doors” will open for the reverse parade to start at 6 pm (the south lot behind Kelsey’s Restaurant) and run to 7pm.
There will be resource information from more than 25 different local, provincial and national businesses and organizations including:
- Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library
