I'd like to take a moment to thank the women at the Service Ontario office in Owen Sound who made renewing our health cards and drivers' licenses so painless and safe this morning.
And even though I had nothing to do with him, I'd like to apologize on behalf of all humanity for you having to deal with the man who was such a jerk (I'd actually like to use stronger language but this is a family space).
He made everyone in the office uncomfortable, angry and a little afraid.
I'm so sorry you have to deal with people like him. I'm even more sorry that it's clearly not the first time.
I am deeply saddened to see (yet again) that there are people in this world who believe that "freedom" means they have the right to impose their misguided beliefs on everyone else in an aggressive and threatening manner.
Whatever happened to politeness and kindness?
Even if you genuinely believe that this thing we've all been dealing with for almost two years is overblown or a hoax, there are people who are genuinely afraid.
The kind thing to do is to respect their fear. Stay two meters away and wear a mask. It costs you almost nothing to do this.
