Community's garden of delights to be spread around

Bruce Hall and Alexa Burns are generously spreading the garden that so many have enjoyed to other people's homes. Bruce is happy knowing that there will be "Bruce blossoms" blooming far and wide. Alexa asked us to share this post.

bruce "Those of you who have enjoyed Bruce’s gardens are invited to re-home succulents, surprise dahlia and calla lilly bulbs. Our garden’s special friend Jess and I will host a giveaway in the back garden at 608 2nd Avenue East on Sunday, October 31st from 11am till 2pm."

Their home, and formerly Bruce's business Renewed Computers, have been the focus of delight alexa for neighbours and visitors for many years - from the giant dahlias and Brugmansia in the front to the roses on the public path out back.

As one neighbour said, "I would often be a recipient of Bruce's beautiful dahlia blossoms when I lived in Owen Sound ... which he generously leaves curbside in bottles of water for grateful neighbours to take home and enjoy. So much loving kindness generates from that home and garden."

And then there are Bruce's "puffies". One admirer put our feelings into words:

"Bruce has been a source of joy and comfort for so many years with his inflatables displays. I can remember driving down the 6th Street hill on my way home after a long week in Toronto to be greeted by some new inflatable gracing your lawn, your steps, your roof...they could be ANYWHERE! And regardless of what the week had been like or how tired I was, i would break out in a laugh or a smile and in my heart, utter a prayer of thanks. Today I am saying it out loud. THANK YOU Bruce, for your many countless quiet acts of kindness and i will strive to pay this forward."

Most of the inflatables collection will go to the Festival of Lights unless some citizens of Owen Sound have a special place in their hearts for one of the inflatables. She will be putting out the dragon display at Halloween for the foreseeable future in honour of Bruce’s spirit of holidays, colour and paying it forward.
