The Festival of Northern Lights is back for its 34th year of lights and magic! Join us for free family fun at our Opening Celebration on Saturday, November 20th from 6:00pm until 9:00pm as we light up Owen Sound for another festive season.

Enjoy the entertainment starting at 6:00pm at the Farmers Market on 1st Avenue East where local musician Bob Sanders will be taking the stage. At 6:30pm join our fun and energetic Dance Groove party featuring Tyler C. Boyle.

At 7:00pm, Blinkey and local dignitaries welcome the opening of the Festival. Join in the countdown to turn on the lights for another season and see the fireworks hit the sky. Treat yourself to a hot chocolate, get your picture taken with Santa, and enjoy the live musical entertainment at the Market Building.

The Festival has been in consultation with the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit and will proceed only if it is safe to do so at the time of the event. The Festival is asking everyone to wear a facemask and maintain physical distancing wherever possible.

The Festival of Northern Lights is excited to be part of a very special day in Owen Sound that begins at 2:00pm with events hosted by the River District Board of Management, the Kiwanis Santa Claus Parade at 5:00pm followed by the Festival’s Opening Celebration starting at 6:00pm.

After the Opening Celebration on Saturday, November 20th, the lights will be on nightly until Sunday, January 2nd from 5:00pm until 10:00pm. During the seven-week Festival, make sure you visit Harrison Park for more displays and partake in our Winter Wonderland Walking path.
