Sandra died peacefully at the age of 75 at Hospice Wellington in Guelph on February 19, 2022 after living for six years with mesothelioma. She was born Sandra Jean Noble in Toronto on March 15, 1946, to John and Nell (nee Upchan) Noble. She was the wife, partner and friend of Andrew for 52 years, the proud mother of sons Owen (Natalie) and Alexander (Andréa), and the loving grandmother to Samuel, Julia, Olivia and Jasper. As a mother and grandmother she loved unconditionally. Her sons continue to learn from her exampleas a caring and engaged parent. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Rosalind Goss and niece Nathalie Robertson.
Sandra studied political science and history at university, but after she married, she and her husband went back to school for three years to study jewellery arts. As partner in Goss Design Studio her jewellery sold across the country through galleries and shops for over 40 years, and was shown in almost a hundred exhibitions including those in Germany and England. She was deeply involved in the art and craft scene in Owen Sound for many years, being part of Makers Gallery there, the Art Town Studio Tour, the Tom Thomson Art Gallery and Summerfolk's craft area. She will also be remembered as a mentor and teacher through Georgian College's Jewellery and Metals program and Haliburton School of the Arts. Her interest in politics remained with her all her life, along with her love of the cottage at Big Bay, board games and her own writing. But for all her creativity and skill, she would be most proud of her long lasting friendships – maintaining those from university and even public school.
She received wonderful medical care throughout her cancer journey from everyone at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, through chemotherapies and clinical trials, to home care nurses and PSWs, and lastly to Dr. Spadafora and the caring staff at Hospice Wellington.
