Owen Sound's John "Daddy" Hall is the subject of the next episode of BLK: An Origin Story. This  limited series, consisting of four 60-minute episodes,  reveals the deep historic impact of Black presence in Canada.

The story of John "Daddy" Hall's arrival in Grey County is included in the book Broken Shackles: Old Man Henson, from slavery to freedom, published by Dundurn. It is featured in Hungry Eyes Media's documentary which is part of the History Channel/Global TV series BLK: An Origin Story.
