Just 30 days are left to sign up for the Bayshore Race. The event is set for Sunday, August 23rd. Race Director, Greg Nicol and organizers hope to welcome more than 500 participants, 60 volunteers plus hundreds of spectators!
Runners and walkers can register online by visiting onlineregistrations.ca. Registration forms are available at Runner's Den, from the Foundation office or can be downloaded from the Race website. Last minute rates for all events come into effect August 19th.
"We're really excited to host our sixth Bayshore Race" said Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation Chair Neil McCutcheon. "The Bayshore Community Centre is a great venue, the scenery is spectacular and we have an important cause to raise funds for." All proceeds support the Hospital Campaign, for better cancer care.
Register as an individual or as part of a team, raise pledges and help crush cancer in Grey Bruce. There are great fundraising and team prizes available to be won. This year, organizers plan a unique course around Owen Sound's inner harbour due to road construction on 3rd Avenue East. Many 5k and 10k runners are likely to set personal best times on what could be the flattest race course in Ontario. While the running events challenge more serious athletes, the 5k Fun Walk enables almost anyone to participate. The 1k race for kids age 6 – 12 makes it a great family event!
