Local Rangers and Pathfinders were walking their talk yesterday, picking up litter at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park.

rangersandpathfinders4From the usual plastic bags, cans and bottles to toothbrushes, weed boxes, tires and flooring, the Rangers, Pathfinders and their leaders picked up two trash cans full of garbage across the park and shoreline. We all hope Lola was found, but the Lost Dog sign is plastic and will eventually break down into the soil and water.

Girl Guides of Canada has programming for girl-identified 5-18 year olds. Locally, Guides, Pathfinders and Rangers (10-18) meet in Owen Sound every Thursday evening at 6:30 during the school year at First United Church and outdoor venues.

Programming involves fun, skills, adventure, service and giving back to our community such as this litter pick up at Kelso Beach.

You are invited to visit and try out Guiding for free for the rest of the year. Here's more information on Try Now, Join Later.
