Today marks the national day of awareness for Missing and Murderd Indigenous Women and Girls.

I had an idea, we quickly got together and set off for the beach by our home. When we arrived there were two beautiful bald eagles sitting on the beach, they flew out onto the rocks and into the trees but both stayed close the entire time we took photos.

Among Anishinaabe the eagle represents love, in order to love others unconditionally we have to love ourselves. Since they fly highest and closest to the creator they can see all the ways of beings from great distances, this helps them teach and practice love. The eagle has the strength to carry all of the teachings. Chi-miigwech for the guidance and affirmation, seeing these two magnificent creatures brought tears to my eyes.
