On April 12th, Alexandra School’s top archers participated in the NASP (National Archery in Schools Program) Provincial Tournament. Due to Covid 19, this tournament was conducted virtually. However, this did not discourage participation! Schools from all over Ontario were involved. NASP began as a pilot project in Kentucky in 2002. It now has over 14,000 schools participating in 11 different countries. NASP has been in Ontario since 2016 and the number of certified schools grows every year. It is proudly sponsored by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters.
This year our archery team trained hard and their efforts were reflected at the provincial tournament level. Recently we received their results and awards. We are proud to announce that the following students placed in the top five in Ontario in their respective divisions.
Boys Elementary (grades 4-5)
Ayden Russell – Provincial Champion
Henry Freeman – 3rd place
Girls Elementary (grades 4-5)
Avery Bowler – Provincial Champion
Boys Intermediate (grades 6-8)
Graham Nuttal – 2nd place
Girls Intermediate (grades 6-8)
Lily Chambers – 2nd place
Harmony Bowler – 5th place
We are proud of all of our archers for a great season and a job well done at the Provincial Tournament. Way to work, Eagles!
