Skate-Park-Jam-2014-full

The Owen Sound Police are gearing up to skateboard, bike and scooter with area youth on August 20th.

For the second time, Owen Sound Police are jumping into action to host the 2nd Annual Skate Park Jam at the Kiwanis Sk8 & Bike Park in Owen Sound. The free event, sponsored by the Owen Sound Police Association and Canadian Tire is open to all ages and skill levels for those who want to show off their tricks on a skateboard, scooter or bike. This year's event includes free prizes and giveaways donated by Canadian Tire, Vertical, TOMS, Vans, Volcom and many others. Zeb Dennis, a well known local bmx biker, will be making an encore demonstration after a dazzling performance at the 2014 event. Added to this year's event is Billy Goodkat and the Artist Co-op who will be working with local youth to "Graffiti Your Gear". Bring your board, helmet and other accessories to add your own stylistic graffiti splash and enjoy live music by DJ Jason Jennings.

"In 2014 at the inaugural event, over 200 people attended. The Owen Sound Police are proud to host this event and provide young people, of all ages and ability, an evening to show family and friends their skills and learn a few tricks from other participants. Last year entrants as young as 4 years old were cheered on and encouraged by the large crowd of observers." said Community Services Officer, Constable Mike Dazé

Participants who register in advance at www.owensoundpolice.com will receive a free entry prize package. The event is August 20th, 2015 from 6pm-8pm.
