Dear Families,
Today is my last official day as principal of Alexandra School. Last week was much quieter than I’m used to. While I miss the excitement that children create, it has given me time to pause and reflect.
I want to tell you one last time how truly blessed I feel to have had four wonderful years at the Home of the Eagles. I have loved working with your children and I will continue to hold a special place in my heart for each of them. As well, I need you to know that it has been an absolute pleasure working with you as partners in education. I am so grateful for all the support that you provided, and for the smiles, laughs and fun we shared as we watched our precious children grow.
At Alexandra, we refer to our school as our ‘school family’ and we talk a lot about how a family differs from an institution. I believe that our children take this to heart and that they see our school as an extension of family. Thank you for welcoming me as part of your family. As we know, at times family members have to leave as they move on to different stages of life. However, we also know that even though they leave, they never stop being family.
I look forward to seeing each of you in our neighborhood over the summer and in the years to come. I know that you will continue to encourage our children to stay on the good path in life and I can’t wait to hear all about their future adventures.
May God bless each of you until we meet again.
Dan
