They'll be throwing dice as well as stones Thursday nights in Wiarton this fall.
The Wiarton & District Curling Club's inaugural weekly Board Game Social starts Nov. 3, running alongside doubles night until Dec. 22.
"We're trying to rebrand the club to bring in a new bunch of party people," said Ted Ratcliffe, "to engage people who aren't necessary curlers."
Carrie Hayes says millennials and gen-Z zoomers don't have a lot of local options for meeting and mixing, especially during the non-tourist season.
"We're one of the only social places in Wiarton with a bar," Hayes said, adding that the club provides a licensed space in a fun atmosphere. The eight-week series social membership fee is $31.10. The evening will be 420 friendly as well.
The Board Game Social joins the annual Bongspeil as part of a drive to publicize and bring new members into the club, celebrating its 60th season next year. More details are available through the club's Facebook page here, or by email here.
The Wiarton & District Curling Club, a co-operative non-profit corporation built in 1963, is located at 563 George St., Wiarton.
