Are you a youth age 12-18 years old who is looking for a program that focuses on physical activity, the outdoors and introduction to the Canadian Armed Forces? The Army Cadet Program is for you.
In Army Cadets you will learn expedition skills and how to take care of yourself in the field. You will participate in physical activities like hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and sports and fitness. You will learn survival skills by making your own shelters and learning how to make fire, find water and make yourself visible to rescue workers if you happen to get lost. Army Cadets learn to use various means to find their way in the wilderness including map and compass and GPS technology.
Army Cadets also participate in community service activities, Legion events and parades and much more.
Army Cadets meet on Tuesdays from 6:30pm-9:00pm at the Owen Sound Armoury. Uniforms are free, enrollment is free and registration is throughout the year from September until June. For online registration please visit the website at https://registration.cadets.gc.ca/get-started.html and our unit name and number is shown as 42 The Grey and Simcoe Foresters Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps.
