The community of Eugenia got a much-needed upgrade at their local park with the addition of a new play structure. The playground was completed on December 6 with an official grand opening to be held in the spring where members of the community and Council will be in attendance.
Council approved using $40,000 from reserves to fund the project as part of the 2022 Capital Budget.
The previous aging structure was taken down earlier this year. The new playground will be a welcome addition to the children and parents of Eugenia providing a safe and fun place to play.
“We’re thrilled to see the new playground completed. The families of Eugenia have waited a long time for this beautiful play area that is a great addition to the community and will be enjoyed by generations to come,” said Michele Harris, Director of Economic and Community Development.
The playground features four slides, adult, child, and infant swings, a climbing wall, and more. Information on the official grand opening ceremony will be provided once the details are finalized.
