The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre invites community members to its second annual Light Up the Holidays event to be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (postponed from December 15).
During the evening, kids will have a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, who are bringing their sleigh, as well as write and post a letter to the North Pole!
Enjoy decorating a mini-gingerbread house, making an eco-bird feeder, taking part in a scavenger hunt, or listening to a reading of Charles Dickins’ A Christmas Carol aboard the HMS General Hunter.
A carolling singalong will be held in the Bruce Power Theatre, led by guest Erin Milley-Patey, who Museum patrons may remember from her opera performance during the Sonic Sensation exhibit opening this past summer. Visitors will also enjoy festive juggling performances throughout the night by guest Robbin Darling.
Outside, take a stroll in the Museum’s backyard where the old schoolhouse and log cabin will be lit up, setting the stage for the perfect photo opportunity.
A Holiday crafters market will be set up for guests to browse for the perfect gift for that special family member or friend.
Hot drinks, including some holiday favourites, and sweet treats will be available for sale on site from Dizzy Bird and guests will receive a $2 voucher at the door.
This event is free for Museum members. General Admission applies. For full details and preregistration, visit brucemuseum.ca.
