drive thru 3A new tradition unfolds at Alexandra School this week as staff and students co-ordinate their Spring food drive “Eagles Take a Bite out of Hunger”. The addition of drive-thru events has proved very successful and bridged an important connection between the school and the community. Earlier this week students handed out flyers in their neighbourhood to spread the news about the upcoming  events. The enthusiasm from the children on Thursday morning was infectious, as the students from 5/6B waved and greeted the community members who came to donate or were simply driving by.

The food drive continues until April 5th with the next Drive Thru Thursday happening on March 30th from 9:30 to 10:30am at the front of the school. All items collected will be distributed to the Salvation Army Food Bank, OSHaRE and the Owen Sound Animal Shelter. Anyone wishing to donate to the food drive is also welcome to drop off donations at Alexandra during regular school hours.
