PAVE Global, in partnership with Ensemble, is delighted to announce Jessica Kirk from Sheridan College’s Interior Design Program (Class of 2023) as the recipient of the inaugural Ensemble Technology Scholarship.
Jessica is a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Owen Sound, now in her fourth year at Sheridan College's Bachelor of Interior Design program. She has been hired full time after graduation as a Junior Designer by Hali MacDonald Interiors in Oakville.
“Ensemble Business Group would like to recognize Jessica for her holistic approach to the challenge with her thoughtful observations, clear articulation of industry opportunities, presentation prowess, and technical rendering abilities. All resulted in our final selection.”
In addition to sharing highlights from their portfolios, students were asked to respond to a series of questions in a short essay. In her response, Jessica had this to say about her future as a designer: “I am inspired to one day work within the hospitality and/or retail industry to create meaningful designs and concepts that enhance and positively impact user experience and how we interact with the world around us. As a designer, it is my goal to surpass the expected to create spaces layered with interest that spark meaning in everyday life.”
Launched in conjunction with PAVE’s year-long 30th-anniversary celebration, this scholarship recognizes and supports professional readiness in college-level Architecture, Interior Design, and Environmental Graphic Design students who are interested in pursuing careers designing retail, restaurant, or hospitality environments. The award for the recipient is a state-of-the-art technology package.
The PAVE Scholarship Program, now in its thirteenth year, provides financial assistance to students in educational programs preparing them for careers related to the design and creation of consumer environments, including but not limited to careers in retail design, visual merchandising, interior design, architecture, product design, UX design, graphic design, and industrial design.
PAVE was developed to help ensure a future talent pool for the industry by eliminating barriers to studying in these fields.
