The Billy Bishop Museum has a busy social calendar next week, honouring local vets in a garden party reception Wednesday, and hosting an afternoon open house Saturday, June 17.

On Wednesday June 14, at 2:00 p.m. you are invited to the Honouring Our Local Veterans Plaque Return Ceremony
Please join us on the back lawn of the Museum for last year’s honourees plaque return.
The eight veterans or family representative will be presented with their plaque to take home.
The plaques have been out and about in the community since October 2022. You may have seen them at Kelso Villa, the North Grey Union Library, OSDSS’s Library or even at Billy Bishop Museum.
All are welcome to this event. Coffee and cookies will be available after the ceremony as well as a chance to speak with our veterans.

On Saturday, June 17, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Billy Bishop Museum is inviting the public to join in celebrating the Billy Bishop Heritage Fest!
Billy Bishop Heritage Fest is a free open house to view the exhibits including Ground Truth: Stories of Canada’s War in Afghanistan.
Kids can fly into the clouds with their imagination in the newly constructed activity room featuring a life size Newport cockpit, drawing table, and a scavenger hunt.
Outside there will be artesian and craft vendors from the local community, available BBQ for purchase at $5 cash per person, and live music performed by Marshall Veroni. The Grey and Simcoe Foresters will be on site to showcase their equipment.
