ArtWalk2023


ArtWalk will return to downtown Owen Sound on Saturday, June 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Bigger than ever before, this award-winning self-guided walking tour includes 13 arts-related galleries, studios, and businesses which will feature special exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, and opportunities to meet artists and learn more about the local arts scene.

ArtWalk 2023 will include:

  • Georgian Bay School of the Arts – 938 2nd Avenue East
  • Grey Gallery – 883 2nd Avenue East
  • Heartwood Home – 939 2nd Avenue East
  • Intersections Wood Collaborative – 299 10th Street East
  • Jean Francis Studio – 986 1st Avenue East
  • Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library – 824 1st Avenue West
  • Owen Sound Artists' Co-op – 942 2nd Avenue East
  • Owen Sound Farmers' Market – 88 8th Street East
  • Tom Thomson Art Gallery – 840 1st Avenue West
  • Upwards Art Studio – 975 2nd Avenue East
  • The Warehouse Studios – 1190 2nd Avenue East, 3rd floor


Special programming this year includes the addition of the culinary arts and international cuisine at the Owen Sound Farmers' Market (open 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) with local artist-chefs Gilles Sarazin (French), Zach Keeshig (Indigenous), John Rodriguez (Latino), Rajab el Sheayer (Syrian), Olha Sckhina (Ukrainian), Fran Wensley (Italian), as well as Machaella Burnetrt (pizza) and Jason Hayes (sustainably grown and raised foods).

Program highlights include a demonstration of printing and exhibit of recent work by Mammoth Hall Press at Heartwood Home and Georgian Bay School of the Arts; a one-day-only exhibition of exquisite turned wood bowls at Intersections; a community paint-by-number mural at the library; and guest curator Lydia Knox will do tarot card readings as part of The Art of the Tarot group exhibition at Grey Gallery.

There is no charge to attend ArtWalk, which also includes a scavenger hunt with great prizes, and a plein air art competition featuring artists working outdoors throughout the downtown.
