Wednesday July 12th at lunch hour Tony and Christine will sing and play your heart away, with a fiddle appetizer!

Tony Hamawi launched his career in 2011 at the national Lebanese conservatory of music in Beirut. He participated in multiple masterclasses in Russia, Armenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia, Lebanon and many European countries and did many opera workshops in the role of Figaro "Nozze di Figaro", Papageno "The Magic Flute" , Don Giovanni and Masetto "Don Giovanni" , Guglielmo "Cosi fan tutte"...

In 2018, he went to Romania for a masterclass and was called in for a last minute audition (he was referred for by a maestro) and won the gold medal out of 250 participants from different countries.

Tony started to teach opera and vocal techniques in 2014 in Lebanon and became an international vocal coach for opera singing and occidental singing in 2015 (giving masterclasses in Europe). Nowadays Tony lives in Owen Sound and is working on giving masterclasses and performances in Canada and the USA.

Canadian musician Christine McLean is an orchestral clarinetist, pianist and music educator from Owen Sound, Ontario. She is a member of the Stratford Symphony Orchestra and freelances around Ontario. In the community, Christine runs a full music studio teaching piano and clarinet and is part of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association and the Education Outreach Committee for the Sweetwater Music Festival. When not making music, Christine enjoys spending time with her family and the beautiful outdoors!

Our very first student opener will be Ellie Farla. Ellie is a local 12 year old musician who recently won both an award and scholarship for her violin playing at the Kiwanis Music Festival. She also received the arts award this year at her school for her accomplishments in music, drama and visual arts.

The noon hour series continues every Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at Georgian Shores Church. Easy parking, fully accessible. Pay what you can - all the money goes to the performers. Come anyway if you can't pay - they will feed your soul!
