Best selling garden writer Patrick Lima launches his latest book at the Ginger Press next weekend.

Tracks in the Snow: Poems & Essays from Life and the Land relates nearly a half-century of living close to nature on the Saugeen peninsula.

Mr. Lima and his partner and collaborator, photographer John Scanlon, will be on hand for what promises to be a poignant afternoon of congratulations and remembrances as they prepare to leave their beloved Larkwhistle paradise in Dyer's Bay later this year.

Best selling garden writer, Patrick Lima, will launch his latest book Tracks in the Snow: Poems & Essays from Life and the Land at the Ginger Press in downtown Owen Sound at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22.

Illustrated by John Scanlan, Tracks in the Snow is In turns thought-provoking, humourous, and moving. It explores both inner and outer landscapes, touching on themes of nature, change, life's inevitable losses, and acceptance.

Over four decades ago, Patrick Lima and John Scanlan left Toronto to establish a new life up on the Saugeen. They transformed a small acreage into Larkwhistle, a remarkable oasis of organically grown herbs, vegetables, and flowers visited by thousands of enthusiasts who marvelled at the remote stunningly-beautiful gardens.

Patrick and John closed Larkwhistle to the public a few years ago, and they will be leaving the area later this year.

Tracks in the Snow contains reflections on almost 50 years of rural living drawn from a long and close connection with the natural world and characterized by keen observation and spirited reflections.
