There is a Skills Sharing event happening this Saturday, May 7th at St. George's Parish hall. The idea is to enable people to pass on their skills to others. There is a whole day of activities planned.
Chair Caning (wicker weaving) from 10-12 - Stage - George Yost - Learn a great hobby for summer or winter, and where to get supplies.
Quilting - 10-12 - Basement - Martha - Quilters Learn basic quilting. All people wanting to learn to quilt will need to bring a thimble and if they have them a quilting needle. We will provide needles for those who do not have them.
Knitting - 10-12 - Hall - Caylee & Eileen - Learn the basic stitch.
Cooking with Beans 11-12 - Kitchen - Laura from Public Health - Learn healthy budget cooking.
Beekeeping - 1-2:30 - Hall - David Asten - Learn backyard beekeeping.
Collecting Sap & Making Maple Sugar - 2:30-4 - Hall - Harris Family (Mike, Shelly, Julie & Alex) - Learn to collect sap and/or make maple sugar from your backyard maples. Great family activity.
Container and Raised Gardening - 2-3:30 - Stage - John Hull - Learn how to garden in small spaces.
Pamphlets and booklets on budgeting for all ages will be available for people who wish to take them home. Provided courtesy of the United Way.
