fort mcmurrayThe dance and concert sponsored by Bruce Grey Owen Sound Federal Liberals at Heartwood Hall on May 14th will now be a fund raiser for Fort McMurray.

Meghan Lipka, Executive Vice President of the local Liberal group, came up with the idea of directing the profits from the previously planned dance as she listened to heart-warming stories of Canadians responding to the Alberta crisis. She knew that the local donation to the Red Cross would be matched by the federal government in a program announced by Justin Trudeau late last week.

The Dundalk based 7 piece band Midnight Special celebrates the soundtrack of the baby boom. Their tight vocal harmonies and horn section, serves up faithfully arranged classics with an infectious appreciation for the song writing and great dance grooves of the era.

The $15 tickets are available at Heartwood Hall 939 2nd Avenue East Owen Sound or by e-mailing [email protected]. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30.
