The Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library is pleased that noted author and historian Carolyn Harris will be coming to Owen Sound to present a talk about Queen Elizabeth II.
Professor Harris will present on Canadian attitudes toward Queen Elizabeth II, which have gone through numerous phases over the course of her reign, from a young Queen in the 1950's to a venerable monarch celebrating her Diamond Jubilee and her 90th birthday in the 21st century.

Carolyn Harris teaches history at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies. She received her PhD in European history from Queen's University in 2012. Her writing concerning the history of monarchy in the U.K., Europe, and Canada has appeared in numerous publications including the Globe and Mail, Ottawa Citizen, Smithsonian Magazine and the BBC News Magazine, and she is the author of Magna Carta and Its Gifts to Canada and Queenship and Revolution in Early Modern Europe: Henrietta Maria and Marie Antoinette. Her third book, Raising Royalty: 1000 Years of Royal Parenting, will be published next year. Professor Harris lives in Toronto. Her website is http://www.royalhistorian.com.
