June is Seniors month and designated to give special recognition to a very important part of society. To celebrate Seniors month, the 9th annual United Way Bruce Grey Seniors' Fair will be held on Wednesday, June 8th, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the fully accessible Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
Forcier Grant's Exclusive sponsorship has paid the way for all day, free Owen Sound City busing. Anywhere in the city!
Gold sponsors include Canadian Elder Services, Closing the Gap Healthcare, Hannah Walker Place, Hanover Holidays, Sound Lifestyles/Graham Design & Construction and Union Gas.
The Bayshore will be filled with 93 exhibitors with focus on services, products, care and support available to help seniors in Bruce and Grey Counties lead happy, healthy, active and independent lives. Each year we build on the successes of the previous years and there's a lot of new exhibits and displays for 2016. This year a larger "hands on room" with 20 focused exhibitors and everything from essential oils, to blood pressure checks, to reflexology.
The focus and the information is directed towards Seniors but in the past we have welcomed all ages there accompanying seniors, or browsing for the most up-to-date information available by organizations, government departments and businesses.
The event has become something many seniors their families, friends and caregivers look forward to each year. Doors will open at 9:45 a.m. and 300 flowers, and special Welcome Bags will be handed out at the front doors of the Bayshore Community Centre.
In the past the event was recognized by the Minister Responsible for Seniors noting this event as something very special for those that attend in Grey and Bruce counties.
