The Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, in partnership with Grey Bruce Friends and Neighbours Club, presents "Self-Esteem for Teens", an informative evening program promoting the idea of self-acceptance in youth between grades 6-9 on August 24, 2016 from 7:00-8:00 pm, in the Library Board Room.Youth in grades 6-9 experience an incredible amount of changes which can lead to stress. They can very easily become overwhelmed and begin to doubt themselves. In hopes of fitting in with their peers kids may conform to social standards, causing them to deny aspects of their own personality that make them unique. It is crucial that youth take pride in themselves in order to preserve their individuality and self-confidence.
Through activities and open discussions "Self-Esteem for Teens" will provide a safe space for teens to learn about the importance of self-esteem and how to build and maintain a healthy sense of self.
