ospl-fullA wide variety of programs and volunteer opportunities for students in grades 7-12 resumes in October, starting with the Library's Teen Advisory Group (TAG) meeting, Tuesday, October 4 at 7:00 pm in the Youth Services Department. TAG members earn community involvement hours, help to shape the Library's program offerings for teens, and volunteer at Library events throughout the year. Youth interested in volunteering at the public library can also apply to be involved with the committee that plans the annual Owen Sound Mini Comicon event, and with a new program helping seniors with computer and technology skills.

Programs initiated by the Teen Advisory Group, that will be resuming this fall include a Teen Creative Writing Circle, an Anime/Manga Club, as well as separate middle school and high school book clubs. Also starting in October is the Level-Up Cosplay Workshops that introduce a variety of costuming techniques, from creating your own DIY body form to wig styling and resin casting. This program is also open to adults.

To find out more about these programs or to register, contact Youth Services Librarian, Nadia Danyluk, at 519-376-6623 ext. 4 or email [email protected]. More details about all of the programs mentioned can be found on the Library's website: www.owensound.library.on.ca.
