Georgian College throws open the doors at all seven campuses for its annual Spring Open house on Saturday, April 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prospective students, friends and family are all welcome. The college is giving away a total of $25,000 in prizes and gifts across all campuses at this event.
Visitors will be able to ask questions about housing options, the application process, books, OSAP and financial aid, awards and scholarships, campus food options and more.
They will also have a chance to meet faculty, staff and other students, and learn about Georgian's more than 125 full-time programs including apprenticeship training, certificates, diplomas and degrees that start in May, September and January. Information will also be available for part-time and online offerings. Hands-on activities will highlight programs available at all campuses.
Scheduled academic sessions will be held at the Barrie and Orillia campuses. At all other campuses, participants are invited to drop by classroom sessions throughout the day.
No RSVP is required, but those who do RSVP will receive a free welcome bag when they attend. Those tweeting a selfie of themselves on campus during Open House with #GCOpenHouse will earn a chance to win a $100 gift certificate.
Any applicant who accepts an offer of admission at Open House will be eligible for a special Georgian-themed gift. Help is also available in person for those who want to begin their application while attending Open House.
Open House visitors can enter to win one of seven Student Life Prize Packs valued between $700 and $1,500. Each prize pack includes a Samsung Galaxy tablet, a backpack, adventure gift certificates, and other items donated by community sponsors.
Those who can't attend Open House on April 8 are invited to any Georgian campus for a personal tour or to attend one of the many upcoming Community Night events.
