Members of the Owen Sound Police Service conducted a concentrated traffic enforcement initiative on Easter Monday afternoon. Officers were in the downtown core specifically watching for drivers who were observed using their cell phones.
Four individuals were charged with Use Handheld Communication Device. This offence under the Highway Traffic Act carries a fine of $490 and three demerit points.
The Owen Sound Police Service will continue to target aggressive and distracted driving as part of their spring Special Traffic Enforcement Program.
