The Rocking Horse-toys for thinking minds-is the longest running independant toy store in Canada, celebrating 40 years in business in Owen Sound Ontario this year!
A giant free community event is being hosted by The Rocking Horse in downtown Owen Sound on Saturday June 10th from 10am to 3pm. Kicking off the birthday party, Scales Nature Park Snake & Reptile Show will bring North American snakes & reptiles (and a few surprises) for a session of information and an opportunity to hold many of these friendly slithering friends. The Bruce Power Robotics team (Team 781) will be on site all day demonstrating custom made robots, Let's Talk Science Team from University of Guelph will be on site all day, interacting with kids and families and working with kids on experiments and demonstrating the wonders of science! Darth Vadar and 6 of his Star Wars co stars will be on site for photos and fundraising for local non profits. Owen Sound Police Services will be on site all day with the Radar Gun-see how fast that pitch really is!
Ghostbusters, Strawberry Shortcake, Lego Builders Club of Kincardine will be onsite, Clifford the Big Red Dog will be visiting,
Dickie Bird (Richard Knechtel) will be performing at 10:30 .
The birthday party will wind up with a Rubiks cube Speed Cube Competition 2 to 3 pm. All events are rain or shine and will be hosted in the private parking lot behind The Rocking Horse.
