Country dinners have long been a way for communities to work and socialize together, and to raise the money that keeps local halls and churches, clubs and programs thriving. Roast beef in Paisley and Sauble, turkey in Hepworth and Woodford, liver and onions at the Legion.
In two weeks it's Annan's turn, where Trinity United Church is hosting their 47th Annual Chicken Bar B Q on Wednesday, August 16. They expect to serve approximately 700 at this community dinner. It includes a half chicken, baked potato, cole slaw, fresh tomatoes, rolls, beverages and homemade pie for dessert. Rain or shine this event goes from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Those who wish to be "green" are welcome to bring their own dishes and cutlery (save your fork - there's pie remember), but recyclable/disposable items and take-out meals will be available.
