North Grey Women's Institute (WI) are holding their annual dessert and card party to support community projects.
An afternoon of Bridge, Euchre and Pepper at Georgian Shores United Church on Wednesday, October 25 will add to the
funds for Women's Institute donations.
For the past three years the focus of their fundraising has been Chapman House, and in March they donated $5,000 to the residential hospice in March as their Canada 150 project. A portion of the proceeds from this October's dessert and card party are going to a Lyme Disease Research project at the University of Guelph, and locally they fund awards at Owen Sound District Secondary School and St. Mary’s High School annually for students furthering their education in family studies or agriculture. They also support the hospital, OSHaRE,the Food Bank, Women’s Centre, Crisis Pregnancy Centre and educational programs like Grown in Grey.
Everyone is welcome at 12:30 pm for dessert, coffee, tea or juice and at 1:30 p.m. for cards and prizes.
