Owen Sound District Secondary School welcomed Grade 7 & 8 Family of Schools students to their first Orientation Day on November 1st. Over 400 elementary students were welcomed by the OSDSS Leadership class and staff, for a tour of elective program offerings, and a sneak preview of the newly renovated areas of the school. Mr. Ewing lead the group in "high school rules" Simon Says, while the leadership students answered questions about different programs the school has to offer. The athletics department also provide a Sports and Clubs preview event so that elementary students could start thinking about their future extra-curricular involvement.

An Open House is planned for any students, parents or community members interested in touring the school on November 23 6:30-8:00 pm. A special Young Women Try the Trades Event is also planned that same evening (5:30-7:00pm) to try their hand at small projects in the woodworking/carpentry, automotive repair, metal work/welding, tech. design/3D printing, hairstyling/aesthetics, and hospitality/culinary arts. All free of charge, reservations are required.

Contact [email protected]. French Immersion parents are also invited on November 23 for an information session on French courses offered by the school in room 117 @ 7pm.

Grade 8 Students and Parents are also invited on January 18, 2018 for an Information Night 7:00pm-8:30pm. The Student Services Department will provide information on course offerings, and choosing the right educational pathway to graduation. The Special Education Department OSDSS will be open for touring, along with supports provided for students with an Individual Education Plan. The school will be open for tours as well.
