For more than seven decades the City of Owen Sound has been one of the many locations chosen by the emissary of the North Pole, the jolly elf of the holiday season, Kris Kringle, as a location for one of his pre-Christmas visits to check on Christmas spirit and to help initiate seasonal activities.
On this, the 72nd anniversary of this annual visit, he again did not disappoint, dawning the traditional garb of office and parading down the street to the shouts of children as they called out to him using his professional name, "Santa Claus, Santa Claus!"
One of the perennial youngsters managed to keep his excitement bridled enough that he was able to capture some excellent images of the parade and the jolly old elf, himself, and with that good young man's permission, we at the Owen Sound Hub present some of those photographs in this, Paul Vanwyck's Santa Claus Parade of Photos.
We and Paul hope you enjoy his offerings and we join together in wishing you a merry and happy festive season, and much joy as you celebrate Christmas or which ever other occasion you choose to honour. Happy upcoming holidays.
