ice skatesThe South East Grey Community Health Centre is collecting skates to re-distribute to children, youth and adults in Grey Highlands, Chatsworth and Southgate. Part of the Healthy Kids Community Challenge, the Southeast Grey Skate Exchange has successfully supported winter play by making skates available at no cost and with no paper work.

"As a community we have been able to support over 150 individuals of all ages in fitting a pair of skates so they can get out and take advantage of the community skate times. Unfortunately, our skate inventory is much smaller" says Allison Whitten, registered dietitian and Healthy Kids Community Challenge lead.

To help replenish the skate exchange, skate donations can be dropped-off at South East Grey Community Health Centre, arenas and municipal offices in the Chatsworth, Southgate and Grey Highlands, and the Foodland stores in Markdale and Dundalk.

The Healthy Kids Community Challenge is taking place in the South East Grey communities to make it easier for children and their families to enjoy healthier lifestyles.
