There is a real flea market just south of town every Sunday - the kind with the new, the vintage and the definitely one-of-a-kind.
You may be looking for something you need, or see something you didn't know you needed until you saw it - "furniture, lamps, china, books, models, diecast, DVDs, LPs, CDs, videos, coins, collectibles, antiques, tools...and much more" as their website says.
Say hello to the OSHub's friend James - he has an amazing variety from books to blankets, dishes to dresses, in his space at the north end. This week he's having a sale on vintage Pyrex and vases, but there are always deals to be had. Every piece in his collection has a story - just ask. He knows his stuff.
There's a diner too - breakfast is served all day, as well as omelets, sausage on a bun, burgers, sandwiches and home made pies and tarts.
The Rockford Flea Market is open Sundays 9 until 4 year-round, spreading to the outdoors in the summer. There is lots of parking and browsing is always free.
