Do you know your rights?

The law for workers and employers has changed ...

What's changed?

Why is it important?

What does it mean for workers and employers?

The Grey Bruce Labour Council is sponsoring a Public Forum on workers' rights under the new Provincial Fair Workplaces Better Jobs Act 2017.

7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 16 in the Bay Room at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound

Keynote speaker is Deena Ladd, Executive Director of the Toronto Workers' Action Centre.

For the past 25 years, Deena Ladd has been working to improve wages and working conditions in sectors of work that are dominated by low-wages, rights violations, precarious and part-time work. She is active in the 'Fight for $15 and Fairness' campaign and the Migrant Workers Alliance for Change. Deena is one of the founders and a coordinator of the Toronto Workers' Action Centre. The Workers' Action Centre organizes to improve wages and working conditions in partnership with workers, women and immigrant workers in precarious jobs.

Nominated candidates from all registered political parties have been invited to stay after the forum to meet with constituents in the foyer outside the Bay Room.
