retireesAre you 55+ plus and looking for a fun project? The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is planning a series of workshops entitled 'Chapter 55'. This series of 10 workshops planned for fall of 2018 are being created with the goal of highlighting the many social, recreational and cultural activities available for retirees in Bruce County. The workshops will have themes such as art, music, health & wellness, culinary, along with special guest presenters. Over the course of the workshops, attendees will sample a variety of activities helping them to discover new interests or rediscover old interests and hobbies set aside during their careers. They'll also receive information on what's available in the community so that they may easily pursue those interests following the workshops. To accomplish this, the Museum is looking for individuals interested in being part of a committee to plan the program.

Do you enjoy activities such as event planning, teamwork, promoting or producing workshops? If so, the Museum would love your assistance in developing this program. The 'Chapter 55' program is being created to help retirees 'turn the next page' and live active engaged lives in Bruce County. Those on the planning committee will brainstorm and collaborate to help to identify the themes, research activities guest presenters, and organizations available and guide the overall design of the program. The goal is to have new or well-seasoned retirees design an interesting program for their peers.

This program is funded in part by the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors Program.
