OSDSS celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week May 7-11 with students in the Lounge Program, and their community partners CMHA and the St.John's Ambulance Dog, Therapy Program.
The goal was to Get Loud about mental health, including a number of activities throughout the week.
The Great Escape Room Challenge raised $280 for the St.John's Ambulance Dog Therapy Program. Teams of 8 used coping skills and teamwork to escape the SHACK by solving complex tasks.
The Homeroom Paper Slam helped students identify why they belong, what makes them special and why what others think is not important.
Students also make a calming bracelet with essential oils and discovered how essential oils can help you stay calm.
